Chromosomes Chromosomes Chromosomes contain the genetic material deoxyribonucleic acid or DNA. In association with proteins, the twisted strands of DNA become coiled and folded to give chromosomes a beaded appearance. Each bead represents a gene-a length of DNA coding for the synthesis of one or more proteins. There are thought to be more than five hundred genes on each of the cell's forty-six chromosomes. Here a progression is shown from a chromosome, as it appears under the microscope, to the molecular architecture of DNA, shown diagrammatically to illustrate the double helix. The chromosome content of every cell in the body consists of forty-six individual chromosomes, except for the sperm and ova, which have only twenty-three. Highly magnified, this chromosome set shows the X (red) and the Y (blue) sex chromosomes. A combination of X and Y denotes male characteristics, while an XX pair results in the birth of a girl. Since sperm contain either X or the Y chromosome and the ova only the X, sex is governed by the sperm. Tags: Chromosomes |

Strong proof of human evolution chromosomes 1 to 9. This video shows strong inference proof of evolutionary theory by showing the similarity between human and chimpanzee chomosomes 1 through 9, in a side by side chromosome count, chromosome size, middle scale architecture, gene ordering, and fine grain DNA code structures. Conversely, both species DNA do not resemble other species like horses, rabbits, mice, insects, plants, amoebas, bacteria, or virus DNA code architectures. Otherwise, what does this evidence indicate? When the primate DNA architecture resembles humans, and when primate/human DNA architectures doesn't resmble other species of life? ... That God so loved the primates, He designed man in ape's genetic image? All of this with very few edits to chromosomes, architecture, order, patterns, and base codes? Or God planned to make a close 98% identical derivative of man when making primates, to "test us", or as a joke? The God of men, as the author of deception in nature ... sounds alot like Satan, doesn't it? Kind arises from kind, the Bible says. This doesn't deny that God was like the monlith in the movie "2001" influencing natural evolution, or that evolution cannot happen over great time. But perhaps it shows that "man" teaches too many of their "own traditions", which is an abomination to God, Colossians 2:8, Mark 7:13, Proverbs 17:15, Proverbs 6:16-19. Lying to the flock, with 1000 year old ideas, about the "undeniable" proof of what God is truly involved with in science and biology, which is an abomination to God, "making the Word of God of none effect through your tradition", and the word of truth made void. The Macaque Genome-Segment3: Chromosomes, Indels, & Families In the 13 April 2007 issue, Science unveils the genome sequence of one of biology's most important model organisms -- the rhesus macaque monkey (Macaca mulatta). In Science, a Research Article and four Reports, as well as two News stories, detail the biomedical and evolutionary insights gained from the macaque genome, only the third primate genome to be completed after human and chimpanzee. http://www.sciencemag.org/sciext/macaque/ Tags: Evolution Macaque Genome |

How the Body Works : The Sex Chromosomes The Sex Chromosomes The sex of an individual is determined by a pair of chromosomes designated as XX in a female and XY in a male. Ova contain only X chromosomes, but sperm contain either an X or a Y in a one-to-one ratio. At fertilization, there is an equal chance of an XX or an XY pair being formed. Sex-linked characteristics, such as hemophilia, arise because there are regions of the X chromosome without corresponding regions on the smaller Y chromosome. Tags: The Sex Chromosomes |

Adam and Eve Chromosomes? Part1 of 2 Aaron Custance BSc (Biochem), shares a US patent as the co-inventor of a genetic analysis 'Hybridization' technology, and is an independent science and technology researcher. He asks how it is that the human species with 46 chromosomes, became a distinct from our common ape-like ancestors; who had 48. Due to the apparent unlikelihood of two identical chromosomal aberrations (telomere-telomere fusions) occurring at the same time and place in ancient history, and the unlikelihood of sexually viable individuals resulting (and going on to produce the entire human race...), he asks if anyone has any information concerning the mechanics and probabilities of these events. Do we really all stem from two individuals; is chromosome 2 our 'Adam and Eve Chromosome'? If this is true for us, then is it also true for the speciation of all other animals?
