Cornwall A short film I shot about my experiences of Cornwall. It's basically a montage piece which is aimed at tourists. It features shots on the beach, from the car and some aerial photography. It's worth noting this is very long - around the 19 minute mark. It's been compressed quite highly so the quality is at about 50% and the music is not the true music of the final piece, just a temp score (temp music by Thomas Newman). It was shot in and around the Porthtowan area (basically the mid-North Cornish coastline) but also features some of the nearby area. It was shot on a PD-150 on mini-DV and knocked together on iMovie. Thanks to Colin O'Neill from the University of Bristol for the lend of the equipment. For my Gran who I know will love this on the cold winter nights! Come to Cornwall, Ontario, Canada on the Labour Day weekend for Pride/Fierté Cornwall 2008, the fifth annual celebration of Queer diversity in the Seaway Valley! Join us in Lamoureux Park on Saturday, August 30th for our Community Day. The opening ceremony begins at Noon and will include the raising of the rainbow flag at the intersection of Pitt and Water Streets. Then there'll be loads of live, family friendly entertainment from 1:00 pm at the Cornwall Lions Club Bandshell, the city's premier outdoor entertainment venue. Featured performers will include Stephanie Coleman, Leaving Beechwood, Maximum 80, Retro Crush, The Trevor Walsh Group and West 4th. We've also got the fabulous Miss Joa as your hostess with the mostest. The highlight of the day comes in the evening when The B-Girlz, Canada's most colourful Queer musical comedy troupe, take to the stage as this year's headliners. There'll also be vendors, info booths and many other activities all day and into the evening. Best of all, admission is free! Join us again on the evening of Sunday, August 31st for our annual Pride Gala at Army/Navy/Air Force Veterans' Club #342, 14 Marlborough Street North.
