Train Simulator: LIRR Jamaica to Hicksville Driving an M1 from Jamaica to Hicksville. You may want to turn down the volume during the clips of the inside of the train because something happened with the sound when I recorded it. It sounds fine in the Simulator but on the video it sounds weird. Anyway enjoy the video Tags: Microsoft Train Simulator Trains LIRR M1 Jamaica Hicksville Long Island |

Getting there from here on the LIRR: Difficult and Expensive The LIRR seems to think central Nassau (and Nassau in general) doesn't exist when it thought up its Montauk line weekend schedule. A trip from here to the south shore of Suffolk, or the South Fork, becomes quite difficult thanks to express trains running past my station. I have to go all the way back to Jamaica on Sundays because of this, costing me hours of extra time and money, all because that express has to run non-stop between Jamaica and Babylon. The LIRR is deaf to the needs of intra-island riders. They are stuck in the mentality that people only travel between NYC and Long Island. Because of this, many people choose to drive because it is quicker and cheaper, despite the gas prices and traffic. But for those of us who dont drive at all, the LIRR robs us of time and money, just so they can save the 2-3 minutes (for those Hamptons ppl) on their trips out east. This nonsense has to stop. Take a stand. Call the LIRR at 718-330-3000 and 718-330-3322 and tell them to have Montauk trains stop in Hicksville! Shinnecock Indian holds up LIRR On Thursday, January 5th 2006 train # 2716 was delayed for over 30 minutes at the Patchogue station by a single man. This is about 10 minutes long, shot near the end of the ordeal. He first claimed he was handicapped and that the train crew would not accept his handicapped ID or reduced fare and he was not willing to pay the increase or leave the train. The crew had called Suffolk County Police for assistance, with help taking over 45 minutes to arrive. Later he claimed he was being discriminated against because he was black. After this didn't convince any of the riders-who were beginning to swarm-he claimed to be a Shinnecock Indian. As usual the crew either made no announcements as to he cause of the delay OR the barely functional system was dead. If a news station would like higher quality video be advised that the original file is 2GB+ and a good quality MPEG or AVI is around 400MB-my prices are reasonable.
