Che (2008) Movie Trailer - Steven Soderbergh http://www.CentralMovieNetwork.com/tmd.htm Che (film) Che is a 2008 film about Marxist revolutionary Ernesto "Che" Guevara directed by Steven Soderbergh and starring Benicio del Toro as Che. The film is actually a merged version of two films by Soderbergh: The Argentine and Guerrilla. The first part focuses on the Cuban revolution, from the moment Fidel Castro, Guevara and other revolutionaries landed on the Caribbean island, until they toppled the dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista two years later. The second part focuses on the years following the Cuban revolution. It begins with Che's trip to the United Nations headquarters in New York City in 1964, until his death in the Bolivian mountains in 1967. Che was screened on May 21 at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival reportedly running over four hours. Del Toro won the Best Actor Award at the festival for his portrayal of Guevara in the film. Che: The Argentine Main article: The Argentine Che Cast Benicio del Toro plays Ernesto "Che" Guevara. Del Toro confessed he only thought of Guevara as a "bad guy" since he was a child. For the film he researched into the differing opinions on Guevara and travelled to Cuba where he met "tons of people that loved this man". He met Fidel Castro "for five minutes" and was told by him that he was happy for the research being undertaken. Del Toro, who speaks Puerto Rican Spanish, tried to speak the best Spanish he could without sounding "stiff". Regarding the brisk shoot, he stated, "my fingernails still have a little bit of dirt," a year later. Benjamín Benítez as Harry "Pombo" Villegas Julia Ormond as Lisa Howard Franka Potente as Tamara Bunke Armando Riesco as Benigno Catalina Sandino Moreno as Aleida Guevara Demian Bichir as Fidel Castro Rodrigo Santoro as Raul Castro Santiago Cabrera as Camilo Cienfuegos Edgar Ramirez as Ciro Redondo Alfredo De Quesada as Israel Pardo Roberto Santana as Juan Almeida Bosque Victor Rasuk as Rogelio Acevedo Che: Guerrilla Che Plot After helping overthrow the dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista in Cuba, Guevara moved on to foment revolutions in Africa and South America, eventually being captured and killed by counter-insurgency rangers in the mountains of Bolivia, backed by the CIA. Che Cast Benicio del Toro as Ernesto "Che" Guevara Benjamin Bratt Franka Potente as Tamara Bunke Lou Diamond Phillips as Mario Monje Kahlil Mendez as Urbano Julia Ormond as Lisa Howard Edgar Ramirez as Ciro Redondo Catalina Sandino Moreno Demián Bichir as Fidel Castro Che Awards Benicio Del Toro was awarded the Prix d'interpretation masculine (or Best Actor) for his performance in Che and in his acceptance speech dedicated his award "to the man himself, Che Guevara and I want to share this with Steven Soderbergh. He was there pushing it even when there [were lulls] and pushing all of us". Che's widow Aleida March, who is president of the Che Guevara Studies Center, sent a congratulatory note to del Toro upon hearing the news of his award. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Che_(film) Tags: Steven Soderbergh che official movie trailer theatrical film preview leak clip teaser cinema Guevara Eduardo Noriega Sonia Braga Revolutionary Socialist Revolt JOSH EVANS |

Che ! Mr. Xavier: So for our 100th video we were thinking about what we should upload. It certainly is a mile stone. I do want to apologize for the quality. As 20th Century Fox has locked this movie in their vault and never commercially released it. This was recorded from TV onto a DVD. The quality of the DVD is good but in the ripping process it has suffered some. Che Guevara... The Doctor turned Fighter. The Fighter turned Revolutionary. The Revolutionary turned Martyr to some, Murderer to others. Now 20th Century Fox separates the Man From The Myth. In this scene Castro's guerrilla army have left Mexico City on the Granma and have arrived on the Cuban shore. Che! (1969) Directed by Richard Fleischer Story by Sy Bartlett and David Karp Screen play by Michael Wilson and Sy Bartlett Musical score by Lalo Schifrin Starring: Omar Sharif as Che Guevara Jack Palance as Fidel Castro Robert Loggia as Faustino Morales Ray Martel as Camilo Cienfugeos Paul Bertoya as Raul Castro This movie is significant as it was released by 20th Century Fox just two years after Che was killed in Bolivia. It was the first biopic of Guevara. The public did not know about his trip to the Congo so that was left out. Instead of trying to make a balanced and articulate movie, this was rushed just to cash in on the death of Ernesto Guevara. The movie is highly inaccurate and bad overall. Yet that is what makes it so fun to watch. Fidel Castro was written as a total buffoon. You would wonder how such a guy managed to overthrow the Batista regime. Jack Palance has stated that he even re-wrote parts of the script to reduce the buffoonery. Yet it is still there. Omar Sharif has claimed that he did not want to play the role of Doctor Guevara to the best of his abilities for fear of being labeled a Communist. However he does a decent job with the material that he was given. Another funny trait of the movie is the relationship between Fidel and Che. It comes off as they are a real couple. Lovers. So that adds so much more to the humor. It is said that this movie was found to be so offensive that in Chile and Argentina, that Molotov cocktails were reportedly thrown at the screen in some cinemas. One highlight of the movie is the musical score by Lalo Schifrin. He does a great job as usual. Thankfully, there will be a decent Che Guevara biopic coming out it in either late 2008 or 2009. It is being directed by Steven Soderbergh and will star Benicio Del Toro as Che, Damian Bichir as Fidel Castro, Catalina Sandino Moreno as Aleida March Guevara, Santiago Cabrera as Camilo Ceinfuegos and Rodrigo Santoro as Raul Castro. The film will be released in two parts, The Argentine. Which will cover Che's actions before and up to the Cuban Revolution. Guerrilla, will follow Che's exploits into Bolivia where he was eventually captured and murdered.
