Through the use of air pressure, the robot hand's touch is extremely gentle. Squse's robot hand can hold an egg or test tube without breaking it. This means that the robot hand could be used in packaging fragile items such as confectionary. Squse and Doshisha University researchers are moving forward with the aim of developing a dexterous robot hand capable of assembling small components for mobile phones and other consumer electronics devices without damaging the components.
