Authorities are looking into reports the teen jumped two six-foot fences to get a hat he lost while riding the coaster. The teen was struck and killed while it was in operation, going full speed. The 17-year-old was decapitated. Authorities say the teen was in a restricted, off-limits area. The ride was shut down after the accident, but is expected to reopen on Monday. The teen and his parents were at the park with a Church group from South Carolina. Chinese Blogger Beaten To Death Authorities have fired an official in central China after city inspectors beat to death a man who filmed their confrontation with villagers, China's Xinhua news agency reports. The killing has sparked outrage in China, with thousands expressing outrage in Chinese Internet chat rooms, often the only outlet for public criticism of the government. The incident has also alarmed advocates of press freedom, who say municipal authorities had no right to attack a man for simply filming them. Police have detained 24 municipal inspectors and are investigating more than 100 in the death of Wei Wenhua, a 41-year-old construction company executive, Xinhua reported on Friday. The swift action by officials reflects concerns that the incident could spark larger protests against authorities, whose heavy-handed approach often arouses resentment. On Monday Wei happened on a confrontation in the central Chinese province of Hubei between city inspectors and villagers protesting over the dumping of waste near their homes. A scuffle developed when residents tried to prevent trucks from unloading the rubbish, Xinhua said. When Wei took out his cell phone to record the protest, more than 50 municipal inspectors turned on him, attacking him for five minutes, Xinhua said. Channel 7 news On The Scene Mt Pocono NYPD Shooting He was found in the woods in Pocono Township, Pennsylvania, after authorities scoured the area for him throughout the night. His arrest was not far from the spot where the other suspect, Dexter Bostick, was captured late Wednesday. The third suspect, Lee Woods, was taken into custody Tuesday. Ellis and Bostick arrived at the police station in Brooklyn just after 6 p.m. They waived extradition after three days on the run. All three men are accused in the vicious shooting of two NYPD officers during a traffic stop Monday. Police say the suspects were driving a stolen car and opened fire on officers Herman Yan and Russel Timoshenko. Yan has been released from the hospital, while Timoshenko remains in extremely grave condition. Eyewitness News reporter Sarah Wallace has the latest from Pocono Township. To everyone's relief, three days of intense drama ended peacefully Thursday morning. Police say Ellis tried to run, but they had him cornered. Authorities dragged him out of a heavily wooded area near the intersection of Interstate 80 and Route 380 in Tannersville, Pennsylvania this morning. Throughout the night, tactical teams had used night-vision goggles and heat sensing equipment in their search. At daybreak, a grid-by-grid search resumed. "That perimeter, as detailed as it was, encompassed over two miles," Pennsylvania state police Captain James Murtin said. "Surely, he had to know that the presence was heavy and the chances for him to escape that perimeter were very slight." Authorities picked up Ellis within a half-mile from where they nabbed the 34-year-old Bostick last night. A 911 caller had spotted the two walking along the median of I-80. Ellis managed to escape the dragnet that moved in. Authorities now say the two suspects enlisted an unidentified driver to take them from New York City shortly after the double police shooting early Monday morning. Police say they first went to Long Island, where they reportedly took a ferry from Port Jefferson to Bridgeport, Connecticut. They then traveled to Tarrytown, Westchester, where police say they bought tuna fish, Saltine crackers, peanut butter and water. Bostick and Ellis were then driven to the Poconos. The driver is reportedly the brother of a New York City police officer, who was finally convinced to tell what he knew. Police say that it does not appear the driver had any knowledge of what the suspects allegedly had done before they contacted him. With news of Bostick's arrest, NYPD officers began arriving at the state police barracks with a strong symbol in tow: Officer Russel Timoshenko's handcuffs. They were slapped on Ellis' wrists. Yan's handcuffs were placed on Bostick Wednesday night. "It's going to be a tremendous relief to everybody that was involved," Murtin said. "And in addition to that, I'm sure it'll be a tremendous relief to people back in New York City, especially the families of the officers shot." Meanwhile, a Brooklyn grand jury has begun hearing the case against the third suspect, 29-year-old Lee Woods, who was arraigned Wednesday. Condition of Officer Timoshenko Our coverage continues with Eyewitness News reporter Jeff Rossen, who has the latest on Officer Timoshenko's condition from East Flatbush. An around-the-clock vigil for this fallen officer continues Thursday. Timoshenko remains in grave condition, still on life support. New York City Police Commissioner Ray Kelly visited again today. He has been at the hospital every day since the shooting. "The condition of Officer Timoshenko has not changed," Kelly said. "The swelling has gone down somewhat in his face, but in essence, he remains in the same condition that he was in when he arrived here at the hospital. And that is extremely grave." Kelly said he hoped to see progress in Timoshenko's condition, but we are told it has not improved much. Kelly says he has been praying with the family and does not discount miracles. Friends, relatives and other police officers have been streaming in to King's County Hospital at all hours of the day and night. Unfortunately, they say hope is dwindling with each day that passes without progress. Last night, the family called in a Russian Orthodox priest to conduct what is called a "deaf and blind confession" at the officer's bedside. It is a prayer for people who are unresponsive. At this point, relatives are just holding on. Mayor Bloomberg released the following statement: "On behalf of every New Yorker, I want to commend the excellent work of New York's Finest that resulted this morning in the capture of the fugitive third suspect in the shooting of NYPD Officers Russel Timoshenko and Herman Yan. I hope the fact that the suspects are now in custody and on their way to facing justice in New York City will provide some small measure of relief to the Timoshenko family during this terribly difficult time." One day before -- a 17-year old boy, now identified as Asia Ferguson of South Carolina was decapitated and killed, after he was struck by the ride moving at roughly 50-miles an hour. Authorities say the Ferguson had just ridden the coaster, and had jumped two fences afterward to get a hat he'd lost. The accident was on the minds of people heading to the park on Sunday. Kevin Bowland : he must have known he was getting into some place he wasn't supposed to go into. It's a tragedy that he was able to get in there. Authorities say the Ferguson was part of a church group, visiting from South Carolina. The teen's parents were at the park at the time.
