Run to the Hills Gold-star - Rock Band Expert Drums Gold #57! EDIT: To all those asking about the Big Rock Ending: For drums, the amount of BRE points is locked, meaning you get 750 points for any drum hit within about a 1.5 second interval. So, no matter how many times you hit the drums within a given 1.5 second period of time, you will only get 750 points. If you hit just the bass drum, or any drum, once, you get 750 points; if you hit twice within 1.5 second, you get 375 points per hit. You get the idea. So, let me make this clear: The way to maximize BRE score is NOT to hit any many drums as you can as fast as you can. It is to begin hitting any drum as early as you can in the BRE section, and to finish as late as possible in the section, while hitting at least one drum at least once every 1.5 seconds in between. I chose to use the kick pedal arbitrarily, it just seemed the easiest to ensure that I hit as early and then as late as possible; I could have used any drum. Hope this clears things up and puts an end to pointless bickering. 3rd documented gold-star and current 1st place score cross-platform as of 7/5/08! Finally got this gold! It was the last possible on-disc gold-star for me to get. (Seven is mathematically impossible to gold.) Very close to an FC, only missed in two places! All Hope Is Gone on drums This is me playing All Hope Is Gone by Slipknot on drums (and some other things too i guess x) Alright, since this song has only been in my possession for a few days, it is further from perfect than the usuality of my covers. But I'm pretty satisfied with the result, since this was the best i could do during the short time i have had^^ For this vid i did not have two cameras, i only had one, so i shot the feet and my body at two different times, although the sound you hear from my drums are from the main body cam^^ therefore, the two cams will look different at times because it is impossible for someone to play EXACTLY the same way twice^^ Also, as usual, my vids are best seen (heard) with earphones :) As you can clearly see i spent a lot of extra time on tis vid, shooting myself miming to the song and even pretending to play guitar :P Thank you all so much for watching and commenting!! Run to the Hills: Real Drums (READ THE INFO) EDIT: If you look in the window, it is NOT a person: I have no idea how any of you could possibly see the plant right outside my window, in my backyard, which is closed off by a fence, as a person. I mean, don't you think i'd notice them in the window? :P The reason it's blowing around is because of the wind. Also, people have been accusing me of speeding this up. Think about how hard it would be to play a song slower than usual, and then speed it up, and have everything match up with the song: not to mention, the pitch of everything would be much higher in real life had i sped it up, not to mention obvious things such as my movements, etc. This video is not sped up, and it's kind of silly to think that I would actually resort to something like that in any of my videos. ========================= So, here it is. An actual Rock Band song, translated to drums, so to speak. The beginning is off time for some reason, but it syncs up soon thereafter. I screw up a few times, due to lack of practicing it on real drums: parts like where the red notes suddenly go from the hi-hat to the toms are a bit hard to time. Also, i took liberties on some parts of the song: I don't have two crash cymbals, so I had to hit the same one for when the blue and green are supposed to be seperate crashes, as well as hitting the snare during the 4x red, 4x yellow, 4x blue etc. rolls instead of a fourth tom which isn't on my set. The way I set this up was to let the song play out on practice mode, not hitting anything, and muting the drums in the options. (That's why the notechart shows me missing all the notes.) Then, i just spliced the audio together. I notice it's kind of hard to hear the bass pedal: however if you look at my leg, and the reflection of my foot on the floor tom, you can clearly see it going to the beat and hitting the pedal when it's supposed to; even if you can't hear it. Yes, the cymbals need to be loosened, however, the set was used when we bought it: the previous owners did not take care of it, and thus if you loosen it, sometimes the entire cymbal pops off. this is also why the drumset sounds like crap. The china cymbal was broken because of a neighbor abusing the set. The hi-hat pedal is also broken, which is why I can't lift it up to do the final hit on the patterns in the intro to the song.
