WORLD'S LARGEST SNAKE, PYTHON, ON EXHIBIT Fluffy, a reticulated python, python reticulates, is considered the world's largest exhibited snake. Fluffy is 24 feet long, 300 pounds, and 15 years old. Fluffy's waist is the size of a watermelon. Pythons catch an animal with their teeth and then constrict around it to suffocate it. Females incubate their eggs by coiling their body around them. They keep them at a constant 89 C. They even shiver to maintain the right temperature. Fluffy was supposed to make an airplane trip, but it was cancelled after the movie, Snakes on a Plane, came out. Jack Hannah of the Columbus zoo has taken Fluffy on the David Letterman show. According to Guinness World Records 2005, the world's longest snake was a reticulated python, which was 32 ft. 9.5 in. It was killed in Celebes, Indonesia, in 1912. Fluffy came to the zoo recently and the signs shown in the video (.42 & .49) give the information about her. Bodies Exhibit Opens Soon At Union Station The controversial "Bodies Revealed" exhibit will start at Union Station in two weeks. The exhibit shows human bodies preserved in plastic. The Bodies exhibit is on display in four different exhibits across the country. The one in Kansas City opens at Union Station on Feb. 29. "We think the educational value is tremendous," Union Station's Andi Udris said. KMBC's Dion Lim reported that new evidence shows that some of the bodies were obtained from executed prisoners. According to a report on ABC's "20/20" that airs Friday night, some of the bodies were not willingly donated. "Some eluded they've been murdered to get the bodies into the exhibit. We don't feel it's the case," Udris said. Udris said the exhibit in question is called "Bodies: The Exhibition," which is not the one coming to Kansas City. However, both exhibits are owned by the same company, Premier Exhibitions. "We've been cautious -- we're relying on the company on how they got the bodies," Udris said. KMBC's phone calls to Premier Exhibitions were not returned. Union Station officials said at first they were offered "Bodies: The Exhibition," but after putting together an ethics committee and learning how the cadavers were obtained, they switched to "Bodies Revealed." Titanic Exhibit Owner Sunk After Eviction Titanic--The Exhibition is being evicted from its current location and the owner is furious, WESH 2 News reported. The owner of the attraction said the movers hired to move everything out of the Titanic exhibit are not experts in handling delicate items. "All of my curators have master's degrees on how to handle delicate things. I don't even handle the artifacts, and I own them," Titanic Exhibit owner G. Michael Harris said. "I spent nine years and thousands of dollars using special lighting to display and protect these things, and now they're out on the street," Harris said.
