Flutist and dystonia. Flautista y distonia. We observe serious difficulties when she has to produce the sound, the sound comes out later than she wants because of the "muscular fight" she undergoes, besides there is something we cannot see like inner tremor, general stiffness and panic. She was frustrated for several years whithout being able to enjoy playing. Observamos serias dificultades cuando la flautista intenta emitir el sonido, finalmente lo consigue lo y hace de manera explosiva e incontrolada quedando la embocadura mal posicionada, posteiormente el sonido era pobre, con mas aire que vibración, en general le molestaba mucho la lengua en cualquier momento en que tenía que picar varias notas seguidas. En el último video vemos como recupera la normalidad y según la flautista disfrutando de una calidad en el registro agudo no conseguida anteriormente a la manifestación de síndrome distónico. Destaco también su disposición a mostrar estas imágenes para dar ánimos y esperanza de recuperación a cualquier músico que se identifique con sus síntomas. Music for Flute by David Livianu, Flutist John Palumbo Performs Live at The Juilliard School April 7, 1987, New York City Music for Flute by David Livianu, Flutist John Palumbo Performs Live at The Juilliard School April 7, 1987, New York City David B. Livianu was born in Bucharest, Romania, on July 14, 1955. He has studied piano since the age of 5 under the guidance of his father, Dorel Livianu, a renowned singer of Romanian and Jewish music. In 1967 he moved with his parents to America, settling down in Brooklyn, New York. David studied at the Bucharest Conservatory of Music „Ciprian Porumbescu between 1976 and 1980. In 1981 he entered the presitgious Masters program the at the Juilliard School in New York City with a full scholarship, studying composition with avangarde composer Milton Babbitt. His works were performed at the Juilliard School and he accompanied his father in numerous concerts in Israel, Romania and the United States. With the demise of communism in Eastern Europe in 1990, David Livianu became a strong advocate for the rights of orphaned children in Romania and other countries. He wrote and published numerous works on the subject of international adoptions, working closely with government agencies and non profit organizations to help the cause of orphaned children. David Livianu specializes in perfect pitch ear training, having developed a very successful course. He also teaches courses in Harmony & Counterpoint, Music Theory, and Composition/Form Analysis. Here you will find a variety of music written and performed by David Livianu and colleagues, dating back to the 1970s. His specialty is lyrical and melodious music, though he has also written avantgarde works. He is married, has 2 children and resides in Brooklyn, New York.
