Also thanks to the person letting me use her piano, but she didn't want her name here :P And now; to you people saying I'm ripping off Michel Gondry: I've seen his video with the drumkit called "Drumb and Drumber". It's here on youtube somewhere. His video and my video are different because of one very important detail: Gondy filmed himself doing drumming sequences and LOOPED them, while I hit each drum and piano chord seperately and edited them together. This is a very big difference if you have any idea about video editing. Actually, there is a short sequence of 5 sec where he does cut the beat, but I didn't notice this until recently, which makes me an idiot. But I still don't think it's a rip off, only similar. SO one question to you guys: If I write a song which includes the words "love" and "tight", am I ripping off The Beatles?? :P I met Michel Gondry in Milan, Italy and asked him. He didn't really give me a clear answer, but it seemed like he thought so. Either that or he didn't like my clothes. Lol. Jeg går en Tur - A self portrait by Lasse Gjertsen OK, this video is very ego, sorry about that! My dad suggested to upload it, and I though, what the hell.. The language is norwegian, but I did my best to subtitle it in english. If you hear the word "tits-machine", don't worry, it means "time machine" in norwegian, lol! This video was my interpretation of the admission assignment for an animation school in Norway, which was to make a "self portrait in any technique". I was studying in England at the time (Spring 2005), but wasn't satisfied with that school, and wanted to try another place. I got in! How it's made: Filmed myself infront of a green screen, made it to a walking cycle which could be looped forever. The rest are pictures from England and Norway and books, and are just mashed together in Premiere. The music is me, played guitar and harmonica myself (two instruments I actually can't master) but it sounds ok enough. Music edited together in FL Studio. Rødmaling - Lasse Gjertsen This is a cute little film I made in 2003, one of my first cartoons! It's also in norwegian, but I did my best to subtitle it. The subtitles are rhyming too!! Thanks to Fredrik for helping me with the rhyming back then and Kari-jento for giving me the idea of posting it :P How it's made: Hand drawn animation and backgrounds, scanned in and colored frame by frame in Photoshop, edited in Premiere. Us - Lasse Gjertsen Well, this was kind of an experiment. I wanted to see how it would look if my shadow ran away. I cut myself away from the scene so that only the shadow would remain. The result ist 100% but I think it's a cute little film.. (How it's made: Filmed 3 different things in each scene (the up the street scene in this example); the location (the street), me running (as me), and me running as the shadow. The sequences were exported from Premiere to seperate image files. In each image, or frame, I had to delete the surroundings so that only me (or only my shadow on that sequence) was visible. I then put the two sequences on top of the location sequence. Voila! I also did some simple photoshopping on some scenes, like when the shadow is dead on the ground. The smoke in the film is artificial. I filmed myself having a sigarette behind a black cloth, so that the smoke went through (filmed in front of the cloth of course). I could then put it in the film as gunsmoke and breathing, using luma key. Oh, the car isn't really there either. It was cut in from another clip. Lasse vs Teknologi II - Lasse Gjertsen Hehehey, I did like the Numa Numa guy and made a crappy sequel! Hope you'll enjoy my rage and anger once again.. I'm sorry for it being in norwegian language, but I am from Norway and my english doesn't sound angry enough.. I'm basiaclly saying :"Oooh, finally done with the project.. SHit, I have to save! What the fuck? What the FUCK?! WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING?!" And then a heap of beautyful norwegian cusswords. Then: "Noooo.. All of my porno! Dammit.." Machine Man - Lasse Gjertsen Well, this isn't a very funny movie, more experimental, artistic and, eerm well.. lame..? Anyhooo, I think the way the guy's walking cycle is continuous while the background is changed out every frame looks cool. It took a while to edit it all together, and I think it's a nice little thingie.. (How it's made: Gaah, do I really have to explain? Ok. Filmed my friend Bo Fan at over 70 locations, (used Premiere to) cut it into different video files, figured out how many frames his walking cycle was and just started cutting together, frame by frame. Wee.. Another problem I encountered was that his body was in different places and sizes on the screen in each clip! So I put two pieces of blutac on the PC-screen, one for his head, and one for the bottom of his feet. Then I "just" had to move his body into the right position and size according to the blutac. The sounds are the real sounds from the different clips, and in addition to that I put on an in-fading "jet engine" kind of sound to make it more stressing. The music is made in FL Studio.) Fotball NM '97 - Lasse Gjertsen OK, first of all, I hate soccer! But I thought to myself, what would make even me start watching it? Therefore I made this little film, a soccer match set in the year 2097 where the games has evolved some new interesting rules :P I'm not completely happy with it. It's just too damn violent! So much that it isn't funny at the end, you know? I sliced it down a little bit though, had some unnecessary long pauses and shit. How it's made: Hand drawn animation scanned into Photoshop and colored frame by frame there. Backgrounds are hand painted in aquarelle, and everything is edited together with Premiere.
