Liberty 8th-Graders Dig Into History About 130 eighth-grade students from Liberty Junior High School took their classroom outdoors on Tuesday. The group took part in an archeological dig at 313 Nashua Road, which used to be a 500-acre plantation with orchards and slave quarters. The items the students found date back at least 100 years. "Some bones and some different electrical wires, pliers, nails, plates. It's been fun," student Endsley Evans told KMBC. "To just get out of the classroom and do some things a little more authentic and give the students a chance to learn about history from a different perspective," teacher Art Smith said.
