April 14, 2005 Homeland Security Checkpoint Stop The first time I was stopped at a Homeland Security Checkpoint was on April 14, 2005. Having been stopped and arrested at an illegal joint task force roadblock conducted by tribal police, U.S. Customs, and the Border Patrol several years earlier - merely for asking a few questions, I always made sure to carry a camera with me when traveling along this road. After the 2002 arrest, I fought the charges in court where they were dismissed 'with prejudice'. I then sued the tribal police for malicious prosecution and civil rights violations in federal court. That case is currently in the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals with details available at: http://checkpointusa.org/roadblock/roadblock.html On the day of this video, I wasn't expecting to be stopped at a checkpoint but my camera allowed me to record the details of the stop. A complete write-up of the 2005 incident is available at: http://checkpointusa.org/DHS/DHSroadblock.htm Tags: Border Patrol immigration homeland security checkpoint police state |

Homeland Security Detention Center- Taylor Tx. 400 women and children are held at this facility, owned by Corrections Corporation of America. I have read that they recieve $7,000 a head, per month, of tax payer money. These are not Mexican immigrants. Many of the families had valid visas and were seperated from their husbands and fathers, for no legal reason. Homeland Security Checkpoint: Video Blog - Day 4 While driving home from work on January 23, 2008, I was stopped at a suspicionless homeland security checkpoint 40 miles North of the border on Southern Arizona's SR86 near mile marker 146. The agents were searching vehicles, interrogating vehicle occupants regarding citizenship status and running a drug dog around stopped vehicles - all absent reasonable suspicion of wrongdoing. Problems with my camera prevented me from videotaping the entire stop. I was however quickly waved through after the agents realized I was recording the encounter.
