Johannes Kepler's Three Laws Of Motion For Astronomy class senior year at high school, my term one class project was on Johannes Kepler's Three Laws of Planetary Motion. Being the Emerson-bound AV nerd that I was, I took the project in a video direction. The class absolutely loved it. Starring: Tom Boyce, Zack S., and Jonathan Paula. Digitized from SHVS. Kepler's First Law pt1 We shall prove Kepler's First Law: A planet revolves in an elliptical orbit with the sun at one of its focus. This simple looking law actually turns out to be the hardest one to derive. Tags: kepler laws calculus donny gaussian math |

Neil Gaiman at Keplers - Coraline the Musical and other vers NOTE: shaky video, think of as enhanced audio Neil Gaiman talks about the three versions of Coraline in the works:a musical, a life-size puppet play, and a stop-motion film. Part of Neil Gaiman's October 3, 2006 talk at Keplers for the "Fragile Things" book tour. Please see other clips I have uploaded from this talk if you are interested. Kepler's Orrery -- PhaseX: 2 Mutations Same world as PhaseX, but with mutation: every time a body hits the center square, its mass changes. Maybe larger, maybe smaller. If it gets small enough it becomes a point, and leaves a trail. Since mutation adds randomness, it comes out different every time. Here are two takes. Neil Gaiman at Keplers - Long Question on Originality NOTE: shaky video, think of as enhanced audio Neil Gaiman answers a terribly long question about originality. You may wish to fast forward past the question, unless you want to see how Gaiman politely tries to get the person to finish the question. Part of Neil Gaiman's October 3, 2006 talk at Keplers for the "Fragile Things" book tour. Please see other clips I have uploaded from this talk if you are interested. Kepler's Third Law We conclude our study by proving, with mathematical rigour as always, Kepler's Third Law - the square of the period of a planet moving around its elliptical orbit is proportional to the cube of its semimajor axis of that orbit.
