Aurora Borealis in Germany - Polarlicht in Deutschland Amazing display of the Aurora Borealis. Ein Film eines in Deutschland sehr selten zu sehenden Naturereignisses, das Polarlicht. Der Film besteht aus einer Serie von 172 Fotos, die jeweils eine Belichtungszeit von 30 Sekunden hatten. Polarlichter sind in klaren dunklen Nächten in den nördlichen und südlichen Polarregionen der Erde zu beobachten. Ursprung dieses Phänomens sind magnetisch geladene Elementarteilchen, die bei Eruptionen auf der Sonne entstehen und von der Sonne aus mit dem so genannten Sonnenwind in alle Richtungen ins All geschleudert werden. In den nordischen Ländern eine alltägliche Erscheinung - bei uns in Deutschland aber ein seltenes Naturschauspiel. Der 60 Sekunden lange Film ist bei dem starken Ereignis am 8.
