Song name origin and meaning The title of the song refers to Chick Hearn and Stu Lantz, the Los Angeles Lakers broadcasters, but it also is a pun on "Chicken Stew", keeping with the food topics of the song. The first verse "This ballgame's in the refrigerator" refers to what Hearn said when the Los Angeles Lakers were in control during the game.
