He was a minor league baseball player in New Jersey and even played one major league game for the Pittsburgh Pirates. He lived in Lackawaxen with his wife and children after leaving his dental practice in New York. Then later moved to California. Week 11: St. Francis DeSales 50, Zanesville 7 Game synopsis: St. Francis DeSales dominated Zanesville in the opening round of the State playoffs. On Zanesville's opening possession DeSales' linebacker #42 John Irwin picked off QB James Reid's pass. This lead to the first touchdown for the Stallions, on a Ryan Clark run into the end zone. It was all down hill for the Blue Devils, they were unable to do anything on both sides of the football all evening. DeSales was leading 21-0 at the end of the first quarter, and the Stallions poured it on. St. Francis DeSales is now 11-0 and faces Canfield 10-1, next Friday in the Regional Semifinals.
