Robert Fisk on false representation of Hezbollah Robert Fisk decries U.S. media's failure to report the truth about Hezbollah and the conflict in Lebanon. I wrote a related ICH article on the subject during the conflict. "Free in Our Time" http://billnoxid.wordpress.com/2007/04/18/free-in-our-time-august-22-2006/ (Excepts below ) "What is happening in Lebanon will change ( by example ) a variety of things on this planet that people accept as fact. The fundamental reason for this is that when Hassan Nasrallah says he cares about the Lebanese people, he means it. Not that anyone in this country would know that of course, since mainstream media hasn't played more than thirty seconds of any of his statements followed by the "white man's overview", but if you had the opportunity to actually hear him you would surely know differently. This makes him unique as a leader since there are very few leaders ( certainly not ours ) that actually care for the people they are supposed to serve and protect. We should all be very well aware by now that leaders on this planet aren't elected, they are "installed" and are there to support the desires of the Global Corporation at the expense of the individual. One glaring example of this was Hezbollah's immediate response to the cease fire. Engineers and doctors were immediately dispatched, and registry centers were set up all over the south for people in need of aid. The response was so swift that European aid agencies that went in after the cease fire couldn't find people that had not already been visited by Hezbollah. The aid workers reported that "The people were happy to take the extra supplies but said Hezbollah had already taken care of all of their needs". Two days after registering, people were called back in and given $12,000 U.S. Dollars each ( the equivalent of two and a half times the average annual salary ), no questions asked. All of this occurred within three days of the end of the bombings. Nasrallah has additionally pledged to not only rebuild their houses, but to build them better ones. Contrast this with the U.S. response to Katrina. Weeks after the event the most the U.S. was willing to offer these people was a $1,200 impossible to get debit card ( which isn't equivalent to anything ) for which they have now spent untold millions in tracking down supposed "fraudulent" use of those funds. A year after the event these people are still homeless, the city is still in rubble, and the only thing our government did for them was to stigmatize them for not being wealthy enough to get out of the way on their own. Which of these responses seems like the act of a terrorist government to you? Unless you're a fool, you would have to choose the latter. Is that the kind of environment you expect the peoples of the world to warmly embrace? If they wholly reject it, does that mean they hate your "freedom"? If they say "No, you can't have our land, you can't have our resources, and you can't have the servitude of our people", will you call that terrorism?" Truth emerges from Narh al-Bared It seems this particular affiliation between Fatah al-Islam and the Lebanese Army ( and government ) may not stay hidden as long as I thought. ICH: Proxy Wars http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article17783.htm ( Excepts below ) Fatah-al-Islam ( in reality ) is a creation of the "Welch Club". This club is named for its godfather David Welch - the current assistant to the Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. He is the "point man" for the Bush administration and is guided by Eliot Abrams. Key Lebanese members of the Welch Club ( aka: the "Club" ) include: The Lebanese civil war veteran, warlord, feudalist and mercurial Walid Jumblatt of the Druze party ( the Progressive Socialist Party or PSP ) The extremist Phalange party and its Lebanese Forces ( LF ) - The group that conducted the Israel organized massacre at Sabra-Shatilla ( although led by Elie Hobeika, once Geagea's mentor, Geagea did not take part in the Sept. 1982 slaughter of 1,700 Palestinian and Lebanese ). The billionaire, Saudi Sheikh and Club president Saad Hariri - Leader of the Sunni Future Movement ( FM ). Over a year ago Hariri's Future Movement started setting up Sunni Islamist terrorist cells ( the PSP and LF already had their own militia since the civil war and - despite the Taif Accords requiring militia to disarm - they are now rearmed, itching for action, and trying dilligently to provoke Hezbollah ). The FM created Sunni Islamist "terrorist" cells were meant to serve as a cover for ( anti-Hezbollah ) Welch Club projects. The plan was that actions taken by these cells - of which Fatah el-Islam is one - could be blamed on al Qaeda, or Syria, or anyone but the Club. http://billnoxid.wordpress.com Tags: Lebanon Palestine Refugee Camp Narh Al-Bared U.S. Israel Fatah al-Islam Welch Club FM Future Movement War |

Israeli incursions into Hamas controlled Gaza begin What a surprise. It seems Israel's "intention" to stay out of the internal conflict didn't even last a couple of days. Not that they haven't been "involved" since the beginning of course. The world cannot be blind to the methods and motives of the U.S. and Israel. How much more of this must we witness? ICH Article: The CIA and Fatah; Spies, Quislings and the Palestinian Authority http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article17906.htm ( excepts below ) When Hamas gunmen stormed the Fatah security compounds in Gaza last week they found huge supplies of American-made weaponry including 7,400 M-16 assault rifles, dozens of mounted machine guns, rocket launchers, 7 armored military jeeps, 800,000 rounds of bullets and 18 US-made armored personnel carriers. They also discovered something far more valuable--- CIA files which purportedly contain "information about the collaboration between Fatah and the Israeli and American security organizations; CIA methods on how to prevent attacks, chase and follow after cells of Hamas and the Committees; plans about Fatah assassinations of members of Hamas and other organizations; and American studies on the security situation in Gaza." (Aaron Klein) Israeli leaders have no intention of negotiating with the Palestinians, regardless of what the Israeli public wants or who's sitting in Ramallah. The Zionist "grand plan" will not be compromised by conferences or bartering. The military occupation and settlement activity will continue until US support dries up and Israel is forced to the bargaining table. Until then the onslaught will continue. Another Siege of Gaza? Ha'aretz reports that Israel is planning to launch a military operation in Gaza aimed at crushing Hamas.( "Barak planning military operation in Gaza within weeks" 6-17-07) The invasion will involve 20,000 troops, armored vehicles, tanks, and air support. But what is the justification? Is it because the US-Israeli plan to overthrow Hamas with Palestinian militias failed? Or is it because the duly-elected government has reclaimed the power it was given at the ballot box? According to an Israeli official, the invasion will be in response to the firing of Qassam rockets into Israel or another suicide bombing. In other words, Israel is devising a pretext for "regime change" EVEN BEFORE THEY ARE ATTACKED. Until then, the border crossings will remain closed, the blockade will be tightened, and the economic asphyxiation will continue. In the face of US-Israeli plotting, consider the comments of Prime Minister Haniyeh, who articulates as well as anyone, the aspirations of the Palestinians people: "We do not want to live on international welfare and American handouts. We want what Americans enjoy -- democratic rights, economic sovereignty and justice. We thought our pride in conducting the fairest elections in the Arab world might resonate with the United States and its citizens. Instead, our new government was met from the very beginning by acts of explicit, declared sabotage by the White House. Now this aggression continues against 3.9 million civilians living in the world's largest prison camps. We present this clear message: If Israel is prepared to negotiate seriously and fairly, and resolve the core 1948 issues, rather than the secondary ones from 1967, a fair and permanent peace is possible. Based on a hudna (comprehensive cessation of hostilities for an agreed time), the Holy Land still has an opportunity to be a peaceful and stable economic powerhouse for all the Semitic people of the region. If Americans only knew the truth, possibility might become reality". Tags: Hamas U.S. Israel Gaza Agenda Air Strikes Tanks Incursion |

Hamas grants clemency for Fatah fighters Denied Legitimacy by Vote, Hamas Wins it by Force "Though Hamas won elections in January 2006, its efforts to govern have been stymied by international sanctions against the Palestinian government and a crippling Israeli siege. Fatah, instead of responding to its electoral loss by bringing in new leadership and weaning itself away from corruption, has spent its time conspiring to overthrow Hamas. Denied the legitimate victory it won in the elections, Hamas was not allowed to govern. Now it has won a military victory -- with bullets. Yet what led to this was a prolonged Israeli occupation and siege, the international community's indifference to a starving Palestinian population, and the systematic weakening of the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas." Editor's Note: According to commentator Jamal Dajani. With Hamas' recent victory over Fatah in the Gaza Strip, Israel and Washington may now have to do what was once unthinkable: recognize Hamas as a legitimate political party. New war on Al-Qaeda in Iraq begins Islamic Army in conflict with Al-Qaeda in Iraq. New York Times Article: U.S. Arming Sunnis in Iraq to Battle Old Qaeda Allies "BAGHDAD, June 10 — With the four-month-old increase in American troops showing only modest success in curbing insurgent attacks, American commanders are turning to another strategy that they acknowledge is fraught with risk: arming Sunni Arab groups that have promised to fight militants linked with Al Qaeda who have been their allies in the past." http://www.nytimes.com/2007/06/11/world/middleeast/11iraq.html?hp Tags: Iraq War Islamic Army Al Qaeda Baghdad |
