Alicia Keys - No One (Guitar Tutorial) I got a request to figure out Alicia Keys' No one, in the same style as the Outkast vid I've uploaded a while ago. I like the song and I had some time to spare this afternoon, so I gave it a try. It's more of an impression, but as you can see it's doable. If you want it to be perfect, you'll have to put some effort in it. She sings a lot of notes in so few bars...insane. Chords I use: C,G,Am,F and play the melody with the index and pinky, bass notes with the ring and middle finger. Sorry 'bout the sloppy camerawork, at least the tutorial at the end is visible. G, C, C, (D), E I see a lot of versions on youtube ending in E minor (or A minor, if played in C). Probably 'cause of that cover of that bearded guy, who ends it in minor. Outkast - Ms Jackson (G/ Vines) Instrumental of the Outkast song ms. Jackson. First part is G,(A),Bm,A. The original is in F, but I just like playing it in G. To copy the slaps, strum down with your middle and ringfinger..makes it easier to slap. Strum up with your thumb, and only use your index for single notes, arpeggio's or little articulations. Seriously...that way you can make any song sound better. The second part is the version of the vines, just added some slaps to it. Romanza (Spanish Romance / Jeux Interdits) Apparently Romanza is a piece that has to be mastered when starting with the classical guitar, so I gave it a try. I can play it as fast as I want, but I really dislike the fast versions I heard on youtube, so I tried it a bit slower. Ended with tremolo, which I just started practicing so it still sucks, but it'll be nice to see how much I've advanced in a couple of weeks. Louis Armstrong - What a Wonderful World Sloppy, laid back version of Armstrong's Wonderful World. Had a look at Isto's version and figured out some of the chords. Strums and picks are improvised and I like it like that...this arrangement gives a lot of space to play around, I'm not even making good use of it. Just a few more practices...
