US TV news report on Bulgarian music featuring Kate Bush On February 20, 1990, one of the three major US TV networks had a report on the growing popularity of "world music" in the US, and specifically Bulgarian choral music. Bulgarian choral singing - Trio Bulgarka + Biserovi sisters This is a short clip I got from a friend, not sure where it came from. If someone knows, please post and I'll include the information. I recognize the three women from the Trio Bulgarka - Stoyanka Boneva, Yanka Rupkina and Eva Georgieva. I don't know the other three, or the flautist. Sorry I have so little information, but there is so little Bulgarian music on YouTube that I had to add this. Update: NODNOLKU provided the following information: The singers are : Yanka Rupkina - from the Strandja region (original Trio Bulgarka) Nadka Karadjova - from West Trakiya Mitra Bisserova - from the Pirin region (from Trio Bisserovsisters) Neda Bisserova - from the Pirin region (from Trio Bisserovsisters) Eva Georgieva - from the Dobrudja region (original Trio Bulgarka) Stoyanka Boneva - from the Pirin region (original Trio Bulgarka) Tags: Bulgarian Choral Singing Trio Bulgarka female singers traditional folk Zaplakala Gorata |

Kate Bush - Dr Hook - Babooshka & Delius This is a version made from a number of tapes. Babooshka was replayed on TOTP, but they overlaid graphics over the bottom half during part of the song. So I matted a part of my next-best copy over the lower half during those parts. The rest is from two other tapes. As always, if you have a better copy, I'd really life to hear from you. Kate Bush interview on Live @ Five During her trip to promote her album "Hounds of Love", Kate did a number of interviews in a very short period of time. A handful of the interviewers were knowledgeable about Kate's music, or had at the very least done their homework. And others...had not. This is one of the latter.
