Bad Game Wednesdays #18 - Attack of the Killer Tomatoes(NES) Welcome to another installment of bad game here on megascorcher.com. For number 18 we have probably one of the dumbest movie/game concept ever. O.k. so the movie wasn't bad at all, definitely a classic. The game on the other hand is total garbage. I'm not sure if you can get a weapon or something but the only thing you can do is jump. If there's a weapon, it's news to me, as I couldn't bear playing a second longer. Good Game Mondays #18 - Skate or Die! (NES) This is Skate or Die, a true classic developed and published by a little company known as Electronic Arts. Although this version for the NES was released by Konami and published by Ultra Games. You get to participate in 5 events, some of which are better then others. Either way it's not like T&C, you get to choose from 5 events and not only just 2! So if you dislike some of them, there's plenty of options. Bad Game Wednesdays #17 - Silver Surfer (NES) This game had a nice concept, one that past games succeeded in doing. This is a side-scrolling and top-scrolling shooter where you control the Silver Surfer. It's pretty much a standard shooter with powerups and loads of action on screen. The problem with this game is you die if you touch ANYTHING. Touch a roof your dead, touch a bullet your dead, touch the rocks your dead. Good Game Mondays #17 - Maximum Carnage (SNES) This game was the shit back in the day, and we all know about the terrible Spider-Man games but this one's definitely a diamond in the rough. Plus it was published under Acclaim's LJN. It's a side-scrolling beat'em up that we've all come to know and love (or hate occasionally). You get to play as Spider-Man and Venom, unfortunately there's no two player mode. Additionally you also get a wide cast of other charaters like Doppelganger and Captain America. Bad Game Wednesdays #16 - Super Pitfall (NES) Alright, this has to be one of my worst games growing up. So it's fitting that it's one of our bad games and it also has subtitles! I could go on and on about all the shit in this game. You have a gun, so why the fuck are the enemies frogs, spiders, bats and other small animals. Why do you die when you touch them? Being that thing game's name is Super Pitfall. What in the hell does this have to do with the glorious Pitfall on the Atari 2600? The guy doesn't even look like Pitfall Harry, he just ends up looking like Mario except a blue miner this time. The video points out a number of glitches and graphical errors that I don't want to go over again. This was my first time playing it since I was a kid, and I think it'll be my last. Good Game Mondays #16 - 1942 (NES) This is nineteen-forty-two for the NES, a classic port of the Arcade gem. It's probably one of my favorite games growing up and before you say I suck at it, keep in mind I have a 10 minute limit on the youtubes. The only thing wrong I can think of is it's audio, kind of annoying really. Besides that the game itself is awesome, classic top down shooting action! Bad Game Wednesdays #15 - The Amazing Spider-Man (GB) It's the last day of Gameboy Month, and we end with another bad one. It's The Amazing Spider-Man for the good old Gameboy. This game had potential to succeed, until I realized that LJN had a part in creating it. The gameplay is not terrible but the controls are, the punch is delayed by a second or two, web swinging is hard to get into and out of and yes the Gameboy only had 2 buttons, so it's all mapped to A and B. But how do they do it? Well you gotta hold B to shoot your web and tapping B makes you punch. Something that's funny near the end of the video, I guess even the dev team had some difficulties with the game's sucky ass controls because I ranked second last in the high scores. Good Game Mondays #15 - Bionic Commando: Elite Forces (GBC) Welcome to the last week of Gameboy month as we feature Bionic Commando: Elite Forces on the Gameboy Color. Bionic Commando is coming back in 2008 in a big way, with a remake of the original on XBLA and PSN and a full blown retail game on PS3 and 360. I'm guessing most of you played the NES game, but the Gameboy Color's Elite Forces is totally rad -- er then ever. There's so many little things that it improves upon from the original, that I simply can't explain. You'll find new weapons, new items, new bosses and much more. If you're waiting for the new Bionic Commando's of 2008 and never played Elite Forces, get yourself an Emulator and ROM because you totally missed out! Bad Game Wednesdays #14 - Marvel Ultimate Alliance (GBA) This is definitely one of the worst Gameboy games I've played ever, period. As you're watching this video, you might be thinking "hey, this doesn't look that bad." If you really are thinking that, you're dead wrong. This is a side-scrolling beat'em-up like Double Dragon or Battletoads, but no where near the quality of those titles. The AI are complete dumbasses, the collision detection is none existent and the controls are simple and not responsive. There's zero gameplay in this game, all you do is jump, press the attack button and change characters. That's it, some of the stuff you can't even hit. Why the fuck can't I hit the gun turrets!? Good Game Mondays #14 - WarioWare, Inc. (GBA) This is WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgames! for the GBA. It's one of the first mini-game compilations from Nintendo that I loved. After this Nintendo basically made a mini-game related console with the Wii. Now I don't want to make this a Wii bashing thing, but damn that thing sucks. Believe it or not, this game actually has somewhat of a story. Wario, seeing the success of some random Gameboy Advance game, decides to create his own game for a quick buck or two. After realizing that creating his own game wouldn't be so easy, he calls his crew to be in the game as well and they all accept. Play this game if you haven't before, it's really addicting. Bad Game Wednesdays #13 - Robocop (GBC) Alright, not much to say about this game. Before you enter the actual game, you're placed in the police station, in what has to be the dumbest menu I've ever seen. First time I played Robocop, I couldn't even figure out how to the damn first level. The gameplay isn't terrible but it's far too simple, you can only move and shoot. The music is amongst the worst I've heard on the Gameboy Color, ranks up there with Mortal Kombat 4. The only option you have in this game is the difficulty and there isn't even a choice for medium, only easy and hard. If you really want to give this game a shot, go ahead. Good Game Mondays #13 - Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden... (GB) Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins is our good game 13 as we move ahead with Gameboy month. This is by far the best Gameboy ever, and I'm totally open to hear your input on this by commenting on the youtubes or on the site itself. Why is this the best Gameboy game ever? Simple really, it's basically Super Mario World in your hands. It has a world map, multiple paths, secret areas both within the World Map and Levels, great bosses, solid controls, superb graphics, good use of coins, a bunch of mini-games and so much more. It's a Super Mario game so you pretty much already know what to expect from gameplay, it's all the other things that tie this package together so nice.
