Dancing around copyright laws, Skuff & the Electric Slide LINKS AND BIBLIOGRAPHY HERE! I'm still annoyed that Ric went after people for doing his dance "wrong". So I made this video to express my displeasure. The "Electric Slide" dance is copywritten, and the creator went on a crusade a year ago, abusing the "Digital Millennium Copyright Act" in the process. He claimed people were infringing on his copyright, but a little research turned up otherwise. So I'm calling Ric to the carpet on a few other claims as well. In the video I make some claims, and here are my reference material, all available on the web to the public. Relay for Life in Second Life A tribute for heroes, survivors, and families left behind. "Relay for Life" is a nation wide fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. There are also events in Second Life, an online gaming community that has a global presence. RFLSL raised L$53,188,280 of in-game money, which roughly translates into $203,870 US. (http://events.cancer.org/RFLofSL) Other events held in the last two months included fishing tournaments, raffles, surf competitions, builds, concerts, and so much more. The Luminaria with the rose is the one I dedicated to my Mom, who fought the good fight but ultimately lost. I still miss you mom. "Where the Hell is Socks" June '08 Second Life Surf Safari Matt made another video, so I do too. Furry see, furry do. Another surf safari, this time it's about 22 sims I think, including one I wanted to put in the last one but ran out of room for! Music is by "Blue Man Group" and is called "Mandelbrot part 4" All beaches are "live" as of right now, but that can change any minute really. Nothing is constant except change, especially in Second Life So if you go, enjoy it while you can. I know the footage is once again choppy, but until I get a new computer, it's the best I can do. On the bright side, we only crashed 4 times this go round. Oh, and this'll be the last machinma for a while. Need a new box, this one frustrated the hell out of us to do. "Where the Hell is Socks?" Surf Safari on Second Life READ MORE FOR INFO! Ok, we'll see who clicks on the "more info" tab here. This is a "response" video to the popular "Where the Hell is Matt?" I admire what he's done, and is going to be doing again apparently. But seeing as I'm not going to travel the world any time soon, I did it virtually. A Second Life surfing safari. "CameraFur" and me did this over the course of a few nights in May 2008. We were on the same wireless router, so I'm amazed the footage looked as good as it did using the equipment we have. We hit a lot of the major surf destinations in SL, but I know I left a few out. CameraFur is the fox you see at the "Neart" vid. And before someone asks, I'm on the wave in the background. Music credits : Rush "Dreamline" and Evanessence "Imaginary" We're working on a way to get higher quality video capture from SL, I'm thinking new computer with better video graphics, but we'll see how that goes. Majini Island surfing on Second Life Lag spikes from hell!!!! Just messing around on a few runs on Majini. WHEN DID THEY RELEASE SHARKS?!?!? Trying out a few things, experimenting and all that. Me and CameraFur are working on how to do decent video from SL, and this was the first attempt at it. We're gonna work on framerates, resolution, all that stuff. Ratchet and Clank 3, Biobliterator battle without hovercraft I really like this game, but I hate the hovercraft. It's slow, it's cumbersome, and honestly it SUCKS for firepower! While playing some time ago I figured that Ratchet has better guns than the hovercraft, so I decided to try it out. And, guess what, it works better this way. Puppy Flatland BMX I'm not the best BMX rider out there, I'm still learning. But considering I'm doing this in costume with thick gloves over my hands, it's not all that bad. Footage taken at a Halloween block event, where the kids went trick or treating on the Sunday before. I made the costume myself, and it's not the one I'll normally be wearing for BMX tricks later on.
