| Asians Unite under "Netaji" Subhas Chandra Bose Part 1 A video my good Indian friend and I made for a presentation in college. Although our university is located in Japan, over 40% of the students are from Asian countries, so we thought it was appropriate for us to bring up Bose and his idea of an "Asian Brotherhood." We made this to shed light on a history that is often ignored and underestimated. It is a dedication to those Indian and Japanese soldiers who fought in Operation Imphal (1944) against the British Empire. This alliance of Indian National Army (INA) soldiers and Japanese soldiers, was known as the "Indo-Japanese Alliance (aka Indo-Nippon Alliance)," and was the first and last alliance between two Asian countries to fight against Western Imperialism. Bose (Netaji) of India, and Hideki Tojo of Japan, held talks at the Greater East Asia Conference, and thus, the Indo-Japanese Alliance was formed. Asia can unite, and it is up to us to make it happen. Indians and Japanese did in 1944, and there is no reason why we can't do it again. The soldiers of the Indo-Japanese Alliance gave up their lives for the independence of Asia. It is up to us to never forget their contributions and sacrifices. Netaji's portrait hangs today in the Indian National Congress Hall, between Gandhi and Nehru's. This founder of "Asian Brotherhood" is still revered as a legend in his home country.
